ABSTRACT
Background: Glaucoma, a neurodegenerative disease of the retina, is leading cause irreversible blindness. Stem cells have therapeutic potential for glaucoma. However, few bibliometric studies been published in this field. Concerning visual map, article aims to characterize research context, cooperation relationship, hotspots, and trends concerning application stem glaucoma research. Methods: Publications focusing on cell were retrieved from Web Science Core Collection. VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Microsoft Excel, Scimago Graphica used map contributions countries or regions, authors, organizations, journals. Journal Impact Factor data obtained We analyzed tendencies, knowledge networks using CiteSpace. Results: 518 articles 1999 through 2022. In first decade, number field increased slowly, there was marked acceleration publication frequency after 2010. The United States, China, England main contributors. Yiqin Du most prolific author, among top 10 writers, Keith R. Martin's work cited frequently. Investigative Ophthalmology Visual Science, Experimental Eye Research, Cornea domain. three commonly co-cited journals Proceedings National Academy Sciences States America. Central South University, University Pittsburgh, Institutes Health Institute highly institutions area. Our keywords analysis with VOSviewer suggested directions future yielded following recent key themes, extracellular vesicles, exosomes, mitochondria, growth factors, oxidative stress, ocular diseases. Four references had citation burst duration until Conclusion: With improvements overall quality life demographic transitions toward population aging, clinical focus eye care has increased, as area emphasis. This study added our understanding global landscape Frontier hotspots
