ABSTRACT
Based on the newly released China Merged Surface Temperature (China-MST) dataset, we diagnose leading mode of covariation between surface temperature and summer precipitation in Eastern (EC). A possible connection East Asia EC since last century (1901–2016) is analyzed. Results indicate that there exists a remarkable meridional dipole pattern temperature, defined as difference index (MTDI). Meanwhile, tripolar precipitation, which coincides with first principal component EC. Further analyses show when MTDI high summer, an anomalous anticyclonic/cyclonic circulation Asia’s mid/low latitude. The water vapor down Yangtze Huaihe River basins, ascending motion weak, resulting reduced over this region. At same time, more intensified North South tend to produce precipitation. opposite situations are found low. Moreover, closely relates Pacific Decadal Oscillation Atlantic Multidecadal at interdecadal multi-decadal scales. These results have been substantiated application information flow analysis, recently developed method physics for inference causality dynamical events.
