ABSTRACT
Understanding the cooling effect (CE) of urban parks is vital to mitigate heat islands. ECOsystem Spaceborne Thermal Radiometer Experiment on Space Station (ECOSTRESS) land surface temperature data (LST) were used construct diurnal thermal variations explore CE in fifth ring regions Beijing. Local climate zone (LCZ) classification was distinguish different for examining internal parks. New subclasses LCZ (e.g., LCZAG, LCZBG, LCZCG) created based basic subclasses, such as LCZA (mainly consist dense trees), LCZB (scattered tress with bush), LCZC and LCZG (water). The external evaluated directions, impacts buildings around also analyzed. results showed that tended up slower than whole during daytime, water releasing energy dominated mean LST at night. Large meeting minimum area (40,000 m 2 ) had better inside each park daytime. Three hundred thirty four large divided into six types LCZ. strength decrease increases distance, seemed exist a distance 150–200 m. Such insignificant In addition, containing certain trees out. height density relatively obvious impact This study can provide insight environment promote future planning.
