ABSTRACT
Heat stress (HS) has become a major abiotic in rice, considering the frequency and intensity of extreme hot weather. There is an urgent need to explore differences molecular mechanisms HS tolerance different cultivars, especially indica japonica. In this study, we investigated transcriptome information IR64 (indica, IR) Koshihikari (japonica, Kos) response at seedling stage. From differentially expressed genes (DEGs) consistently six time points, 599 DEGs were identified that co-expressed both as well 945 1,180 specifically IR Kos, respectively. The results GO KEGG analysis showed two pathways for Kos. mainly enriched chloroplast-related pathways, whereas Kos endoplasmic reticulum mitochondria-related pathways. Meanwhile, highlighted importance NO biosynthesis genes, nitrate reductase based on protein-protein interaction networks. addition, found heat shock proteins factors play very important roles cultivars. This study not only provides new insights into responses between subspecies but also lays foundation future research breeding heat-tolerant
