ABSTRACT
Unsustainable fisheries practices carried out in large parts of the Amazon, Tocantins, and Orinoco basins have contributed to decline populations Amazon River dolphins ( Inia spp.), considered Endangered by International Union for Conservation Nature (IUCN). dolphin byproducts are often obtained through unregulated from stranded incidentally caught individuals that traded flesh blubber used Calophysus macropterus fisheries, traditional other medicinal purposes, more recently human consumption.
