ABSTRACT
Background This retrospective study was designed to analyze the prevalence and impact of associated comorbidities on fibromyalgia (FM) outcomes (functionality, pain, depression levels) for patients who participated in an intensive multicomponent clinical program a tertiary care center. Methods Participants included sample 411 diagnosed with FM at large medical center using 2016 ACR criteria. Patients completed 2-day cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT) program, filled out Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire Revised (FIQR), Center Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), Pain Catastrophizing (PCS), were followed 6 months after completion. T -tests performed differences between presence or absence select three follow-up. Statistically significant ( p < 0.05) used as predictors multivariable logistic regression models. Results The this cohort that had measured outcome domains Obesity (FIQR = 0.024), Hypothyroidism (CES-D 0.023, PCS 0.035), Gastroesophageal reflux disease GERD (PCS 0.001), Osteoarthritis 0.047). Interestingly, Headache, most frequent comorbidity (33.6%), did not have (18.2%) only significantly impacting all Conclusion present suggests addressing obesity may patients.
