ABSTRACT
The scientific community faces significant ethical challenges due to the “publish or perish” culture, particularly in developing and emerging economies. This paper explores widespread unethical practices publishing, including sale of authorships, proliferation “paper mills,” misuse artificial intelligence produce fraudulent research. These undermine integrity research, skew publication metrics, distort academic rankings. study examines various instances fraud, emphasizing impact on low-income countries, with specific cases from Latin America. Recommendations include stricter verification authorship, disciplinary measures for policies promoting transparency accountability Addressing these is crucial maintaining credibility endeavors globally.
