ABSTRACT
Protein profiling based on matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry (MS) has proved to be a powerful tool for yeast identification. However, it is rarely used in the identification of isolates from polar regions, which may due limited data available differentiation species. The present study constructed supplementary database MALDI-TOF MS, including 33 species Arctic and Antarctica. These were assess accuracy practicality MS-based compared ribosomal DNA [internal transcribed spacer (ITS) large subunit (LSU) gene regions] sequencing Their dendrogram main spectra profiles (MSPs) was somewhat consistent with their phylogenetic tree. MS also by ethanol-formic acid extraction method on-plate method. In addition, peptide markers some (e.g., Glaciozyma , Phenoliferia Mrakia Vishniacozyma ) identified. It concluded that can differentiate closely related thus suitable yeasts.
