ABSTRACT
Introduction Chronic venous ulcers of the lower limbs develop in context advanced disease and have a significant impact on patient’s quality life, being associated with depression worrisome suicide rates, as well an economic burden caused by increased medical care costs high epidemiological risks healthcare infections emergence strains resistant to multiple classes antibiotics and/ or antiseptics. Although numerous studies investigated composition chronic wounds microbiome, either culture-dependent independent methods, there are no data association between virulence resistance profiles isolated from clinical picture this pathology. The elucidation pathogenic mechanisms, at both phenotypic molecular level, is crucial fight against these important human microbial agents, order novel biomarkers discover new therapeutic targets. Methods In study we aimed characterize (including ability biofilms) microorganisms skin correlate them symptomatology. Considering incidence Staphylococcus aureus ulcers, but also species multi-drug resistance, performed more in-depth genotypic methicillin-resistant . Results revealed differences regarding evolution limb wounds, patients diagnosed those lesions different etiology.
