ABSTRACT
Biogas production via anaerobic digestion is an established and robust technology that produces energy recycles nutrients. Several biotechnological attempts have been applied to this process increase biogas production, including adding nanoparticles, but several discrepancies reported. To elucidate the contradictory results, we performed a literature review followed by meta-analysis evaluate effect of natural nanoparticles sludge. Our results showed can up two orders magnitude. Considering that, attribute these variability in applied, leading less reliable, consistent, even results. We observed magnetite are most tested ones with promising positive effects. In addition, concentrations higher than 100 mg/L adverse effects, overall decrease production. The findings study highlight need for proper characterization nanomaterials type concentration understand interactions effects on microbial communities dynamics lead or yield.
