ABSTRACT
Background The indirect impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on major clinical outcomes people with Parkinson's disease (PD) or other parkinsonism is unknown. Objectives study aimed to (1) describe changes in healthcare services during first bout PD parkinsonism; (2) compare occurrence hospitalization for any PD-related 2020 2019; (3) investigate factors, including services, associated and death. Methods All province Bologna were assessed through a record linkage (ParkLink Bologna) using data health databases. Same analyses performed random cohort controls matched age, sex, district residence, comorbidities ParkLink (ratio 1:10). Results A subjects (759) (192) was included together (9,226). indicators dropped at least below 50% lockdown period all cohorts, mostly impacting physiotherapy (−93%, 95% CI 88–96%).
