ABSTRACT
To investigate the protective effect of high-proportion breast milk feeding (>50%) on intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in very preterm infants (VPIs).This was a retrospective secondary analysis prospective multi-center study, which included 604 VPIs from six hospitals eastern China between September 2019 and December 2020. The were divided into two groups according to whether IVH occurred. High-proportion defined as accounting for 51-100% total amount both within 7 days throughout hospitalization. grades rate analyzed. Furthermore, explore relationship grading, VPIs' general information, perinatal factors, growth, nutritional status during hospitalization, related complications compared groups.High-proportion reported 63.41% VPIs. I-II III-IV noted 39.73% (240/604) 1.66% (10/604) VPIs, respectively. Univariate revealed that occurrence is influenced by invasive respiratory therapy, feeding, start with milk, cumulative early parenteral nutrition, postnatal complications, physical other factors (P < 0.05). After adjustments gestational age, birth weight, possible influencing through binary logistic regression analysis, results associated lower incidence IVH. Further stratification showed grade Similarly, after adjusting same >50% 1st week decreased further it IVH.High-proportion more than 50% intake might be verified neuroprotective milk. In clinical practice, construction banks should strengthened, encouraged neonatal intensive care units, efforts made increase rates improve outcomes
