ABSTRACT
Rhabdomyolysis (RM) induced by electric blankets is exceedingly rare, with only three cases identified in our literature review. Both RM and Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) present similar clinical manifestations of myalgia muscle weakness, posing a potential challenge for accurate diagnosis settings. This report presents the case 22-year-old man who developed subsequent to use an blanket. Despite undergoing plasma exchange renal replacement therapy, patient continued exhibit poor strength both lower limbs. Subsequent comprehensive evaluation revealed presence concurrent GBS. Following 5-day course intravenous gamma globulin treatment, experienced rapid recovery was discharged. Additionally, we reviewed seven from coexistent indicated that investigation timing onset decline patients could help identify neurological or muscular disorders. In which GBS cannot be definitively ascertained during early hospitalization, prioritizing treatment may lead improved outcomes.
