ABSTRACT
Background In the last decades, association of household pesticide usage with Parkinson's disease (PD) has been poorly explored, discordant results. Based on Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) cohort study, we analyzed (1) exposure development PD and (2) effect pesticides progression PD. Methods Data from participants “FOllow Up persons Neurologic Disease” (FOUND study) included in PPMI database were analyzed. The FOUND study applied Disease Risk Factor Questionnaire to collect information regarding use non-work settings during periods life, lifetime for each participant was estimated. We defined a high if estimate had z-score higher than one standard deviation mean. Also, evaluated longitudinal data people analyze according motor impairment, cognitive dysfunction, depressive symptoms, modification clinical phenotype. Results 206 64 healthy controls, almost all USA. High not associated odds developing Regarding progression, only dysfunction fungicides (HR 5.64 per increase estimate, 95% CI 1.41–22.6). Conclusions Chronic may impact PD, especially symptoms.
