ABSTRACT
Ependymal cells are radial glia-derived multiciliated lining the lateral ventricles of brain and spinal cord. Correct development coordinated cilia beating is essential for proper cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow neurogenesis modulation. Dysfunctions ependymal were associated with transcription factor deregulation. Here we provide evidence that transcriptional regulator ID4 involved in cell maturation. We observed Id4 -deficient mice display altered ventricular cytoarchitecture, decreased number enlarged ventricles. In addition, absence during embryonic resulted delayed Our findings open way a potential role motor function.
