ABSTRACT
Background: Malnutrition is common in patients with cancer and associated adverse outcomes, but few data exist elderly patients. The aim of this study was to report the prevalence malnutrition using three different scoring systems examine possible clinical relationship prognostic consequence cancer. Methods: Nutritional status assessed by controlling nutritional (CONUT), index (PNI), risk (NRI). Quality-of-life (Qol) during admission European Organization for Research Treatment Cancer Quality Life Questionnaire C-30. Performance (PS) Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) classification. between overall survival Qol were examined. Results: Data available 1,494 (63.65% male), mean age 70.76 years. According CONUT, NRI, PNI, 55.02, 58.70, 11.65% diagnosed malnutrition, respectively. Worse related older, lower BMI, hand grip strength, more advanced tumor stage. All indexes correlated each other (CONUT vs. r = -0.657; CONUT NRI scores, -0.672; PNI 0.716, all P < 0.001). During a median follow-up 43.1 months, 692 (46.32%) died. For malnourished, incidence rate (events-per-1,000person-years) as follows: (254.18), (429.91), (261.87). increased all-cause mortality (adjust HR [95%CI] CONUT: 1.09 [1.05-1.13], 0.001; PNI: 0.98[0.97-0.99], NRI: 0.98 [0.98-0.99], improved predictive ability TNM classification system mortality. Deterioration deterioration parameters immunotherapeutic response (P Conclusions: prevalent cancer, regardless assessment tools used, immunotherapy response.
