ABSTRACT
Introduction The impact of diet on mental well-being and gut microorganisms in humans is well recognized. However, research the connections between food nutrients, microbiota, health remains limited. To address this, present study aimed to assess effects a personalized diet, based individual needs aligned with Mediterranean principles, depression symptoms, quality life, nutritional intake, microbiota changes among older adults living community. Methods intervention involved regular visits from registered dietitian, who provided tailored dietary recommendations. During 6-month study, participants completed questionnaires evaluate their levels, habits. Additionally, they stool samples for analysis metabolites. Results results demonstrated that reduced symptoms improved life adults. Furthermore, significant intake certain such as folate, lutein, zeaxanthin, EPA, DHA, were observed following intervention. Moreover, was associated increased diversity microbiome total short-chain fatty acids, main metabolites produced by microorganisms. also revealed correlations parameters.
