Oxygen-enriched oleic matrix (NovoX) for wound healing in pediatric patients undergoing open surgical treatment for pilonidal disease: Preliminary experience

ABSTRACT
Pilonidal disease (PD) is a common infectious and inflammatory condition affecting the gluteal cleft sacrococcygeal region. The optimal treatment for PD remains controversial. While open technique reduces number of relapses compared to minimally invasive approaches, it associated with longer healing time. Reactive oxygen species are key part normal wound-healing process. Herein, we reported our preliminary experience using new oxygen-enriched oil-based product called NovoX wound after surgery PD.We used in three pediatric patients undergoing surgical repair between December 2021 April 2022. During postoperative follow-up, time aesthetic result were evaluated.Our study included chronic PD. average follow-up was 5 weeks, corresponding end process resumption daily activities. Only one mild complication occurred during period. No short-term side effects reported. cosmetic as satisfactory.NovoX easy apply, safe, effective treating PD, leading slightly faster good outcomes.
