ABSTRACT
Acne vulgaris is a common adolescent skin condition which mainly caused by Propionibacterium acnes overcolonization and subsequent inflammation. Our previous studies have demonstrated that Cath-MH, an antimicrobial peptide from the of frog Microhyla heymonsivogt , possesses potential antimicrobial, LPS-binding, anti-septicemic properties. However, its protective effects mechanisms against acne are still unclear. In present study, anti- P. were measured two-fold broth dilution method, agglutination assay, scanning electron microscopy confocal laser experiments. Its treatment for was further evaluated in mice ear inoculated . addition, binding ability between Cath-MH LTA Circular Dichroism antibacterial assay. Moreover, anti-inflammatory efficiency LTA- LPS-induced RAW 264.7 macrophage cells. found to kill with MIC value about 1.56 μM membrane disruption mechanism. It also exhibited activity able bind as well LPS, inhibit LTA/LPS-stimulated TLR2/4 expression, subsequently decreased inflammatory response As expected, alleviated formation edema infiltration cells mouse model concurrent suppression growth cytokines expression vivo The potent inhibition combined powerful effect indicates novel therapeutic option vulgaris.
