ABSTRACT
Background: Beka ( Oroxylum indicum (L.) Kurz) has been used as a culinary herb and natural remedy by the local communities in Malaysia. The leaf of O. is traditionally for treatment diarrhea, high blood pressure, improving digestive health. Objectives: present study was conducted to evaluate phytochemical constituents wound healing properties vitro vivo models) aqueous ethanol extracts leaves. Methods: total phenolic (TPC) flavonoid (TFC) contents plant were determined spectrophotometric methods. Further, extract characterized Liquid Chromatography Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (LC-TOF-MS/MS) Gas Chromatography-Mass (GC-MS). activity assessed using scratch wound-healing assay excisional model. Results: results show leaves had higher TPC (164 mg GAE/g) when compared with (30 gallic acid equivalents/g). also found have TFC (101 Catechin equivalents/g) than (76 then further chemical analysis. LC–TOF-MS/MS analysis showed that contains many important compounds such Orientin, Chrysin, Pinoquercetin, Cupressuflavone, Puerarin xyloside, Forsythiaside Paederoside. In GC-MS analysis, 19 identified ethanolic extract. studies shows promising increasing rate contraction significantly p < 0.05). Conclusion: conclusion, phytochemicals potential may probably be result presence various phytoconstituents.
