Community pharmacists’ perspectives on cardiovascular disease pharmaceutical care in the United Arab Emirates: a questionnaire survey-based analysis

Background: Community pharmacists play an intermediary role between prescribing physicians and patients in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) thus are responsible for ensuring that receive optimal cardiovascular disease (CVD) pharmaceutical care. Methods: we used a cross-sectional design to assess perceptions practices of community concerning care with CVD. A trained researcher visited randomly selected pharmacies structured questionnaire conduct in-person interviews pharmacists. The collected demographic data information on regarding CVD Results: Five hundred fifty-one participants were recruited. average participant age (mean ± SD) was 35 2.7 years. perception score prevention management 75.6% (95% confidence interval [CI] 77.1%-74.2%), practice 87.1% CI 76.5%-79.6%). Bivariate analysis revealed gender (p = 0.001), education level < pharmacy position 0.004), work experience number served per day 0.001) being significantly associated about Better scores seen among older (OR 1.01; 95% 1-1.019), postgraduates 1.77; 1.66-1.89), workers at chain 1.24; 1.11-1.39), charge 1.22; 1.01-1.47), >10 years 11.3; 6.01-15.62), 6-10 4.42; 3.90-5) 1.29; 1.15-1.46). Conclusion: Pharmacy practitioners working UAE actively engage delivering patients, playing prevention. However, they showed low levels involvement other healthcare services, specifically screening measuring patients' weight, glucose levels, blood pressure, monitoring treatment responses, maintaining medical records, reviewing medication refill histories. Activities such as educating providing counseling, offering support adherence, fostering collaborative relationships providers should be encouraged ensure provision high-quality patient
