ABSTRACT
Background: In clinical practice, antibiotics and/or inhaled or oral hormone preparations are the first line of treatment for chronic pharyngitis. However, this therapeutic regimen is not satisfactory enough. At present, medicinal plants as dietary supplements functional foods widely recognized and prevention different diseases. Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate efficacy botanical lozenge made from several plant extracts in pharyngitis its effects on patients’ illness perception adherence treatment. Methods: Patients with were randomly assigned experimental group (n = 52) control 51). given lozenges prepared such Siraitia grosvenorii (Swingle) C. Jeffrey ex A.M.Lu Zhi Y. Zhang [Cucurbitaceae; Siraitiae fructus], Lonicera japonica Thunb [Caprifoliaceae; Lonicerae japonicae flos], Platycodon grandiflorus (Jacq.) A. DC [Campanulaceae; radix], Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. [Fabaceae; Glycyrrhizae radix et rhizoma] placebos starch 15 days. The improvement pharyngeal symptoms signs, perception, evaluated at end intervention.
