ABSTRACT
Due to the extremely complex working conditions, various health and safety hazards are present in underground coal mines, which cause economic losses heavy casualties. Among these hazards, methane gas explosion combustion recognized as two major miners. Traditional electronic sensors mine monitoring systems have problems such low precision, a large amount of maintenance, dead zones. In past decade, based on tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) been extensively studied tailored for use industry because their advantages high sensitivity, stability, fast response, intrinsic safety, remote monitoring. This invited paper introduces recent progress typical applications TDLAS-based sensors, carbon monoxide multi-gas monitoring, fire prevention, early warning intelligent mines.
