ABSTRACT
Chronological age is one of the important factors influencing muscle development and meat quality in chickens. To evaluate protein expression profiles during skeletal development, we performed a tandem mass tag (TMT)-based quantitative proteomic strategy pectoralis major (breast muscle) Beijing-You chicken (BYC) at chronological 90, 120, 150 days. Each contained 3 pooling samples or 15 birds (five per sample). A total 1,413 proteins were identified breast with FDR < 1% 197 them differentially expressed (fold change ≥1.2 ≤0.83 p 0.05). There 110 up- 71 down-regulated 120 d vs 90 group, 13 10 group. The BYC very similar to those highly different from d, suggesting that might be an for BYC. Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) analyses indicated these mainly involved pathway glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, adrenergic signaling cardiomyocytes, focal adhesion, oocyte meiosis phagosome. Furthermore, some DEPs quantified using parallel reaction monitoring (PRM) validate results TMT analysis. In summary, provided candidate protein-coding genes further functional validation contribute comprehensive understanding age-dependent regulation by
