ABSTRACT
YSK2 type dehydrin from Sorghum bicolor (SbDhn1) showed a high level of transcript accumulation when subjected to temperature and osmotic stress. The occurring in such stress situation might lead protective effect; though the exact mechanism by which this is achieved remains poorly understood. Nevertheless, our results provide compelling evidence prove that transgenic tobacco lines overexpressing SbDhn1 gene improve tolerance as assessed reduced membrane damage low MDA content. Furthermore, we demonstrate here expressing were only able recover after treatment. In study, have provided direct for protection rendered SbDHN1 protein temperature-sensitive enzyme under both desiccation We extended analysis whole plant proteome where addition helped retaining solubility was demonstrated. Interestingly, vitro experiments carried out with lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), aggregate formation upon subjecting it temperature. However, presence very few aggregates observed. Aggregation assay wild-type or empty vector transformed plants compared lines. Confocal microscopy images leaf peel sections amounts This study provides inhibiting rational how these proteins ameliorate adverse conditions.
