ABSTRACT
In the current study, inoculation with plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) and grafting were tested as possible cultural practices that may enhance resilience of tomato to stress induced by combined water nutrient shortage. The roots grown on perlite either inoculated or not PGPR, applying four different treatments. These PGPR-T1, a mix two Enterobacter sp. strains (C1.2 C1.5); PGPR-T2, Paenibacillus strain DN1.2; PGPR-T3, mori C3.1; PGPR-T4, Lelliottia D2.4. PGPR-treated plants self-grafted grafted onto Solanum lycopersicum cv. M82 received full 50% their standard water, nitrogen, phosphorus needs. vegetative biomass subjected PGPR-T1 was reduced when cultivated under stress, while it rest PGPR However, PGPR-T3 increased considerably non-stressed than did all other application had no impact fruit biomass, ’M82’ production self-grafting. Metabolomics analysis in leaves revealed affects several metabolites, most them already described stress-related, including trehalose, myo-inositol, monopalmitin. inoculati o n E. C3.1 affected which are important for plant/microbe symbiosis (myo-inositol monopalmitin). rootstock affect many metabolites leaves, but clearly decreased levels malate D -fructose imposed an accumulation oleic acid. conclusion, capable increasing tolerance stress. further research is required evaluate more refine protocols application. Metabolites discovered biomarkers could be used accelerate screening process traits such abiotic and/or stresses. Finally, ‘M82’ suitable tomato, production.
