ABSTRACT
The WRKY transcription factors (TFs) are one of the largest families TFs in plants and play multiple roles plant growth development stress response. In this study, GmWRKY21 encoding a factor was functionally characterized Arabidopsis soybean. protein containing highly conserved domain C2H2 zinc-finger structure is located nucleus has characteristics transcriptional activation ability. gene presented constitutive expression pattern rich roots, leaves, flowers soybean with over 6-fold relative levels could be substantially induced by aluminum stress. As compared to control, overexpression increased root seedlings transgenic lines under AlCl3 concentrations 25, 50, 100 μM higher proline lower MDA accumulation. results quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) showed that marker genes including ALMT, ALS3, MATE, STOP1 were treatment. stress-related genes, such as KIN1, COR15A, COR15B, COR47, GLOS3, RD29A, also upregulated Similarly, GmCOR47, GmDREB2A, GmMYB84, GmKIN1, GmGST1, GmLEA, hair roots plants. summary, these suggested may promote tolerance mediated pathways regulating acidic stress-responsive abiotic genes.
