ABSTRACT
Existing neuroimaging studies have shown that religion, as a subjective culture, can influence self-referential processing. However, the time course of this impact remains unclear. The present study examined how Christians process their own names, name religious leader (i.e., Jesus), and famous person's Yao Ming). Behavioral EEG data were recorded while participants performed name-color judgment task for these three names. behavioral showed no significant differences in reaction or accuracy among ERP P200 P300 amplitudes elicited by self-name larger than those name. Furthermore, also amplitude did. These results suggested both processed preferentially due to important social value self compared generally Importantly, dissociation between was observed at high-order cognitive stage, which might be attributed different roles one's self-concept.
