ABSTRACT
Purpose This study explores the relationship between physical exercise and older people’s subjective well-being mediating role of a sense meaning in life self-esteem by using structural equation modeling (SEM) approach, order to provide some suggestions for improving well-being. Methods In this study, cross-sectional survey was conducted offline simple random method collection, Physical Activity Rating Scale (PARS-3), Subjective Well-being (SWB), Meaningfulness Life (MLQ), Self-Esteem (SES) were applied 419 adults who participated from Chengdu (Qingyang District, Wuhou Chenghua District), Sichuan Province, China, with voluntary participation subjects. 197 males 222 females, mean age 72.49 (SD = 1.57). The used SPSS 25.0 Process 3.5 plug-in statistical processing data, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient intra-variate consistency testing, Harman’s one-way test common bias testing multiple covariance diagnosis, finally regression analysis Bootstrap sampling significance effects. Results able have positive effect on level ( β 0.0305; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.0226, 0.0384; p < 0.05), mediation revealed that they independent chained effects, four pathways: first, directly affected 0.0149; CI: 0.0072, 0.0226; 0.05; 0.05); secondly, mediated 0.0075; 0.0041, 0.0115; thirdly, 0.05). (β 0.0061; 0.0034, 0.0094; fourth, chain 0.0021; 0.0010, 0.0035; Conclusion prospects As indicated results, can enhance through self-esteem, therefore, be adults, enhancing is an effective means.
