ABSTRACT
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) represent a major threat to health and primary prevention outstands as the most effective instrument face this issue, addressing multiple risk factors at time influencing behavioral patterns. Community nurses have been involved in many interdisciplinary activities, resulting control of CV factors. We conducted pilot study aiming describing impact on profile an 18-month intervention lifestyle habits. From September 2018 May 2020, four general practitioners (GPs) working Roman neighborhood Torresina recruited patients having cardiovascular score (CRS) equal or higher than 3% lower 20%; those were included nutritional, physical, psychological counseling program. Assessments patients' status led baseline, 6, 12, 18 months by nutritionist, physiotherapist, psychologist, their GPs, community nurse. The CRS was estimated every examination, based Italian Progetto Cuore algorithm. A total 76 (mean age 54.6 years; 33 men 43 women). Mean showed significant reduction between baseline 12 (from 4.9 3.8); both cholesterol systolic blood pressure (SBP) significantly decreased 6 follow-up (respectively, from 211.1 192 133.1 123.1). Nonetheless, later maintained only for SBP. However, during last intervention, COVID-19 pandemic broke out, thus, it is not possible know how much results achieved influenced restrictive measures introduced government. When stratifying according presence hypertension/diabetes physical activity, no differences could be highlighted two groups. Our proved that program can improve further spread people that, CRS, would benefit more changes lifestyles.
