ABSTRACT
Background The emergence of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as a global pandemic has resulted in the loss many lives and significant decline economic losses. Thus, for large country like India, there is need to comprehend dynamics COVID-19 clustered way. Objective To evaluate clinical characteristics patients with according age, gender, preexisting comorbidity. Patients were categorized comorbidity, data over 2-year period (1 January 2020 31 2022) considered analyze impact comorbidity on severe outcomes. Methods For different age/gender groups, distribution positive, hospitalized, mortality cases was estimated. assessed by computing incidence rate (IR), odds ratio (OR), proportion analysis. Results results indicated that caused an exponential growth mortality. In age 50, found be very high, ~80%. Moreover, based estimation OR, it can inferred various comorbidities predictors strongest risk factors diabetes (OR: 2.39; 95% confidence interval (CI): 2.31–2.47; p < 0.0001), hypertension 2.31; CI: 2.23–2.39; heart 2.19; 2.08–2.30; 0.0001). fatal among positive increased number comorbidities. Conclusion This study concluded elderly at group underlying medical conditions are recommended preventive care or resources vaccination against COVID-19.
