The relationships between burnout, general wellbeing, and psychological detachment with turnover intention in Chinese nurses: a cross-sectional study

ABSTRACT
Background It is critical to minimize nurse turnover improve the quality of care and patient safety. In-depth investigation required better understand factors related nurses' intentions. Aim This study aimed determine relationships between burnout, general wellbeing, psychological detachment with intention among nurses in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey using convenience sampling was conducted one hospital China January 2023 March 2023. total 536 were surveyed General Wellbeing Schedule (GWB), Maslach Burnout Inventory scale (MBI), Psychological Detachment scale, Turnover Intention scale. The collected data analyzed SPSS 26.0 statistical software. chi-square test binary logistic regression analysis used explore intention. Results Our demonstrated that scores 13 (10, 15.75), 56% exhibiting a high level Binary results indicated being on contract (OR = 4.385, 95% CI 2.196–8.754), working pediatrics 2.392, 1.267–4.514) or obstetrics 2.423, 1.145–5.126) department, experiencing burnout 1.024, 1.008–1.041) associated heightened Conversely, organizational satisfaction 0.162, 0.033–0.787) wellbeing 0.967, 0.946–0.989) identified as hindered leave. Conclusions Findings from this suggest employed basis, pediatric obstetric departments, expressing dissatisfaction organization, reporting low levels require special attention. identification these risk can inform targeted interventions support programs at improving retention settings.
