ABSTRACT
Moving from participatory approaches incorporating co-design to co-production in health research involves a commitment full engagement and partnership with people lived experience through all stages of the process—start finish. However, despite increased enthusiasm proliferation that co-production, practice remains challenging, due part lack consensus on what constitutes guidance about practical steps applying this approach respect diverse methods multiple paradigms, structural barriers within academia landscape. To navigate challenges conducting co-produced research, it has been recommended attention be paid focusing operationalising underpinning principles aspirations aid translation into practice. In article, we describe some fundamental essential (sharing power, relational resilience, adopting learning mindset) provide tangible, strategies, processes engage these values. doing so, hope support rehabilitation researchers who wish foster more equitable, ethical, impactful collaboration those involved their circle care.
