ABSTRACT
This technology report validates the application of radio frequency (RF) coefficient reflection (Γ) measurement as a viable and accurate means to estimate starch content fresh cassava roots. A clear relationship between dry matter an indicator Γ is experimentally verified both from flour in water at different concentrations by direct probing root samples specific 30 MHz. prototype test instrument designed with goals portability, low cost ease use also reported. The displays estimated five categories, “low” “high”, using array LEDs. performance field, reliable correlation LED indication demonstrated.
