ABSTRACT
Background: Diffuse astrocytoma (DA) is a rare disease with inadequately understood epidemiological characteristics and prognosis. Identification of the factors associated survival in DA patients therefore necessary. In this study, we aim to investigate clinicopathological delineate influencing DA. Methods: A population-based cohort study was conducted, utilizing prospectively extracted data from Surveillance, Epidemiology End Results (SEER) database. Patients histological diagnosis SEER database 1973 2017 were included. Results: total 799 participants included, consisting 95.9% fibrillary 4.1% protoplasmic variants. The average age 41.9 years, 57.2% being male. majority population white (87.5%). More than half (53.9%) married. arose mostly cerebrum (63.8%). Around 71.6% had received surgical treatment. overall 1-, 3-, 5-, 10-year rate 73.7, 55.2, 49.4, 37.6%, respectively. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that at diagnosis, marital status, primary tumor site, size, surgery possibly cancer-specific (CSS) (p < 0.05). Multivariate Cox proportional hazard indicated protective factor whereas older age, larger brainstem harmful for Moreover, nomogram predicting 5- probability developed. Conclusions: Age,
