ABSTRACT
Excessive nitrogen fertilization results in nitrate accumulation leafy vegetables. Reducing the dose of mineral or using alternate fertilizers lowers accumulation; however, a critical minimum level is necessary to maintain yield and nutritional quality. The aim this study was evaluate effect two levels (100% 50%) three an amino acid solution (0, 0.3, 0.9%) nutrient baby lettuce cultivars (green red) grown floating system. Nitrogen reduction did not affect (12.9–13.4 11.0–11.3 g/plant, respectively) but reduced (by 43 19%, both green red lettuce, while enhancing phenolic content 28%) antioxidant capacity 69%) soluble solid 7%) total chlorophyll 9%) lettuce. Although prevented (< 355 mg/kg FW) most components increased types by acids supplementation, plant growth negatively affected, especially concentrations (reduction 9 35% 0.3 0.9%, respectively). In types, proline 0.9% supplementation 45%), implying probable induction stress condition. Mineral nutrients were slightly affected reduction, which probably perceived as abiotic stress.
