ABSTRACT
Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is the most lethal gynecological cancer. The current treatment for EOC involves surgical debulking of tumors followed by a combination chemotherapy. While patients achieve complete remission, many EOCs will recur and develop chemo-resistance. cells can adapt to several stress stimuli, becoming resistant. Because this, new ways fight resistant during disease are being studied. However, clinical outcomes remain unsatisfactory. Recently, ferroptosis, novel form regulated cell death trigged accumulation iron toxic species lipid metabolism in cells, has emerged as promising anti-tumor strategy treatment. This process high potential become complementary strategies eliminate avoid relapse. Cancer like other body, release small extracellular vesicles (sEV) that allow transport substances from themselves communicate with their environment. To we analyzed capacity epithelial (OVCA), treated ferroptosis inducers, generate sEV, assessing size number, study transmission sEV. Our results reveal OVCA ferroptotic inducers modify intercellular communication inducing recipient cells.
