ABSTRACT
Psychiatric disorders are a class of complex characterized by brain dysfunction with varying degrees impairment in cognition, emotion, consciousness and behavior, which has become serious public health issue. The NGFR gene encodes the p75 neurotrophin receptor, regulates neuronal growth, survival plasticity, was reported to be associated depression, schizophrenia antidepressant efficacy human patient animal studies. In this study, we investigated its association major depression role behavioral phenotype adult mice. Four SNPs were detected based on study among 1010 patients, 610 patients depressive (MDD) 1034 normal controls, respectively. We then knocked down expression protein hippocampal dentate gyrus mouse injection shRNA lentivirus further investigate effect found significant associations s2072446 rs11466162 for schizophrenia. Ngfr knockdown mice showed social abnormalities, suggesting that it is linked etiology neuropsychiatric disorders. between may contribute behavior functional provided meaningful clues pathogenesis psychiatric
