The Role of Social Value Orientation in Chinese Adolescents’ Moral Emotion Attribution

ABSTRACT
Previous studies have explored the role of cognitive factors and sympathy in children’s development moral emotion attribution, but effect personal dispositional on adolescents’ expectancy has been neglected. In this study, we address issue by testing attribution with different social value orientation (SVO). Eight hundred eighty Chinese adolescents were classified into proselfs, prosocials mixed types SVO asked to indicate their emotions four contexts (prosocial, antisocial, failing act prosocially (FAP) resisting antisocial impulse (RAI)). The findings revealed an obvious contextual depends SVO. Prosocials evaluated more positively than proselfs prosocial RAI contexts, FAP contexts. that individual differences roots orientation, suggest processing emotion.
