ABSTRACT
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a mycotoxin which represents an emerging problem for both animal and human health, due to its high presence in feed foods. Exposure OTA associated with oxidative stress-induced nephrotoxicity. Therefore, the identification of new antioxidant or adsorbent substances protective action constitutes one main challenges reduce negative effects induced by mycotoxins. For this purpose, we investigated effect two innovative additives, bio-organoclay (CHS) mixture tri-octahedral Na-smectite ligno-cellulose based material (MIX) alone combination kidneys treated chickens. Real-Time PCR analyses NADPH oxidase 4 (NOX) p47-phox were performed evaluate stress. Our results demonstrated increase NOX levels OTA-treated Moreover, CHS, more than MIX, was able OTA-induced toxicity, restoring levels. Taken together, these findings highlight potential beneficial role CHS reverting nephrotoxicity chickens could lead production healthier foods consequences health.
