Quality of Life among Peritoneal and Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study

ABSTRACT
Background: The quality of life (QoL) patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) who undergo dialysis is a reliable predictor their long-term survival. Hemodialysis the most common form replacement therapy for ESKD, followed by peritoneal dialysis. This study aimed to identify factors affecting QoL in ESKD treated (PD) or hemodialysis (HD) Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Methods: A cross-sectional was conducted between June and July 2021 assess underwent hemodialysis. Patients had been on at least one year were included. Arabic version Quality Life Index–Dialysis (QLI-D) III used measure QoL. Results: total 210 completed questionnaire. overall QLI score 21.73 ± 4.2, subscales health functioning (20.35 5.2), social economic (20.20 4.8), psychological/spiritual (23.94 4.9), family (24.95 4.5). scores PD HD 21.80 4.4 21.72 4.1, respectively.
