ABSTRACT
Corrosion is one of the causes failure in reinforced concrete structures, and forming a passive film on steel essential for protection. Although several studies have looked at formation pore solutions, few considered its hardened influence silica fume (SF) binder composition. This study aims to evaluate SF content time concrete. Periodic measurements assessed electrical resistivity corrosion current density samples containing 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% SF. The alkalinity mixtures kinetics pozzolanic reaction were also monitored by XRD titration tests. control exhibited susceptibility corrosion, regardless curing age evaluated. In contrast, partial replacement cement with accelerated surface, suggesting delayed onset due modifications physical properties Also, portlandite pH can predict formation, significantly accelerating this process.
