ABSTRACT
We investigated the clinicopathological characteristics of 31 cases pleomorphic high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (PHSIL) uterine cervix. reviewed electronic medical records and all available slides to collect clinical pathological information. PHSILs were histologically characterized by significant nuclear enlargement, marked pleomorphism, hyperchromasia, increased mitotic activity, frequent atypical mitoses. In majority (24/31; 77.4%), this striking atypia involved both surface epithelium endocervical glands. remaining seven cases, cells observed in only. involving glands showed higher counts Ki-67 labelling indices than surface-only PHSILs. Invasive cell carcinoma was present only one case (3.2%), none developed recurrent disease. Our observations HSIL did not indicate aggressiveness. Further investigations are required for confirmation our data larger cohorts.
