ABSTRACT
Untreated chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection can lead to liver disease and may progress cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). HBV has been prevalent in Vietnam, but there is little information available on the genotypes, sub-genotypes, mutations of patients with HBV-related HCC confirmed by histopathological diagnosis. We studied molecular characteristics its genetic variants Vietnamese after tumor resection. conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study 107 hospitalized from October 2018 April 2019. The specimens collected included EDTA anticoagulant blood tissues. Extracted DNA was subjected whole genome sequencing Sanger method. discovered 62 individuals (57.9%) genotype 45 (42.1%) C, only sub-genotypes B4 C1. Among mutations, double mutation, A1762T-G1764A, had most significant frequency (73/107 samples; 68.2%) higher C than (p < 0.001). common genotypes found this investigation were C1 for each. prevalence greater HBV-infected patients.
