ABSTRACT
Exploring crevasses in extreme environments such as Antarctica is highly dangerous yet essential for ensuring safe movement. Recently, robotic systems have been investigated a means to conduct exploration regions. Unlike conventional settings, these require integrated capabilities, including mobility harsh terrain and the ability operate reliably at extremely low temperatures. In this paper, we propose KAREX (Korea Antarctic Robot EXplorer), system designed investigate support research activities environments. The robot engineered cold resistance with thermal insulation that enables low-power temperature maintenance, it supports multiple swappable batteries extended-range operation. proposed was tested Jang Bogo Station verify its performance applicability real-world conditions.
