ABSTRACT
This paper proposes applications of a modified stochastic fractal search algorithm (MSFS) to solve the economic load dispatch problem (ELD) in which valve-point effects, prohibited operating zones, power losses all conductors, multi-fuel sources and other constraints system are taken into consideration. The proposed method is first developed study by performing two modifications on procedures new solution generation from conventional (SFS). modification used change strategy producing solutions second update while one newly worst process best process. These have major influence performance method. All improvements can be illustrated solving analyzing results various test systems with different scales including 3-unit, 6-unit, 10-unit, 20-unit systems. Comparison obtained MSFS, SFS, existing methods indicates that MSFS more effective robust than compared terms quality, high-quality stability convergence Consequently, should as very favorable optimization for ELD it tried problems electrical engineering.
