ABSTRACT
We previously proposed the gas phase stoichiometric ratio (SRgas) as an index to evaluate NOx concentration in fuel-rich flames. The SRgas was defined amount of fuel required for combustion/amount gasified fuel, where which had been released by pyrolysis, oxidation and gasification reactions. In present study we found that a good consider reaction mechanism pulverized coal When < 1.0, strongly influenced value. also calculated using model. model verified various coals, particle diameters, times, initial oxygen concentrations. most important reactions were reduction hydrocarbons. hydrocarbon estimated based on SRgas. investigated develop new low-NOx combustion technology coals. examined relation between local distribution region flame emissions at furnace exit, varying burner structures. relationship value examined. type used, readily decreased. same, it difficult influence changing structure. For staged combustion, item design structure arrangement so could be lowered much possible just before mixing with air.
