ABSTRACT
Having been widely acknowledged as enabling access to education, employment, leisure and social activities, transport choices are also the cause of many challenges cities face. Recognising that change is needed, planners policymakers considering alternative methods planning delivering transport. Mobility a Service (or MaaS) one such idea has gained traction with academics professionals alike. Hailed answer integrating complex systems, MaaS yet be implemented at scale in urban systems due part lack an agreed conceptual definition, top-down approach implementing what meant more personalised method accessing transport, local promoters (in comparison global corporations lobbyists). This article reflects on current barriers defining MaaS, considers how novel public engagement could used create definitions support citizen engagement, suggests route forward for future research.
