ABSTRACT
Grasslands cover approximately 40% of the Earth’s surface. Thus, they play a pivotal role in supporting biodiversity, ecosystem services, and human livelihoods. These ecosystems provide crucial habitats for specialized plant animal species, act as carbon sinks to mitigate climate change, are vital agriculture pastoralism. However, grasslands face ongoing threats from certain factors, like land use changes, overgrazing, change. Geospatial technologies have become indispensable manage protect these valuable ecosystems. This review focuses on application Google Earth Engine (GEE) grasslands. The study presents bibliometric analysis research conducted between 2016–2023. Findings reveal significant growth GEE different remote sensing products grassland studies. Most authors reported degradation most countries. Additionally, China leads contributions, followed by United States Brazil. highlights need greater involvement developing countries, particularly Africa. Furthermore, it global distribution efforts, emphasizes broader international participation.
