ABSTRACT
Nowadays scientific and technological advances have allowed to Mankind improve the life-style, but in this way, other problems appeared. Currently, environmental are one of most important. Many countries developed a large number laws with purpose reducing human industrial effects environment. In work, valorization procedure is for important wastes generated during aluminum recycling, namely, saline slag, finding that final solids can be used applications. The divided into two steps: 1) recovery from various slag fractions, b) use recovered synthesis zeolites, analcime (NaAlSi2O6·H2O) pollucite (CsAlSi2O6·nH2O). Saline was ground, sieved (1 mm), washed separated fractions different sizes, larger than 0.4 mm lower mm. fraction <0.4 treated under reflux conditions NaOH or CsOH solutions concentrations. extraction liquor contained alkali metal cations; thus after adding necessary amount Si, hydrothermal carried out at 200 °C 24 hours, obtaining zeolitic materials. were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, FT–IR spectroscopy, element chemical analysis electron microscopy. results first step showed high percentage Al (~ 44 wt.%) mm, recovered. second indicated crystalline zeolites hydrothermally synthesized extractions liquors source being only phases detected PXRD.
